The origins of Holi can be traced back to various mythological tales, with one of the most popular being the legend of Prahlada and Holika. According to Hindu mythology, Hiranyakashipu, the demon king, had a son named Prahlada who was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu. Angered by his son's devotion, Hiranyakashipu conspired with his sister, Holika, to kill Prahlada. Holika, who was immune to fire, tricked Prahlada into sitting on a pyre with her. However, due to his unwavering faith, Prahlada emerged unscathed while Holika perished in the flames.
