Yes, opinion outpost from what I know is a very good survey site with good reputations as well but I was unable to join because a friend told me that if I am not from the US, it is almost a sheer waste of time to join them.

That is true. If you are not in the usa, opinion out post will not be suitable for you because you are not going to get many survey like the ones that are in the usa. This survey company has lasted for many years and they are paying.
