It is better to have same amount of fund in both demo and real accounts. But usually that cannot be actualize. It definitely feels good to have some figure but you can keep the some proportion as well, as an alternative. Say you have 50 in your real account and $5k in your demo account. Then you can multiply the lot size demo account orders by 0.01 to achieve the same effect in the real account.

There is definitely a fundamental difference between the good time to trade and the time of openning or closing. There are certain periods of the day when the market is highly volatile and there exists a chance to profit a lot; but within that period, pinpointing the right time to open or close orders is just hard and requires a lot of expertise.

To me, various lot sizes are just part of the trading strategy. You can adjust your lot size according to your total account balance if you target a certain percentage of profit. Or you can double or triple your lot size when you are practising strategies such as hedging. For me, I vary my lot size a lot.

I agree. If you have a really high leverage, like 1:1000, then you have to watch your lot size closely. You must allow 100+ pips of negative net profit at least if you want to profit daily. If your account can only sustain a negative net profit of 40-50 pips, you may profit most of the time, but will completely blowup your account on one really unlucky day.

I have to make another point here. As a newbie, one the most important things is the eagerness to learn. You must have something motivate you to enhance your trading skills. It is very dangerous to reject learning and start out all by yourself, especially when you are handling real money. You can always find places to learn if you really want to. There are lots of forex videos and forums on the internet.

I think there should be more people posting in the forex section. When I browse the "new content", 80% new content on the first page is in the HYIP section. Some sections are not popular, which somewhat discourages members to post in those sections.
