When a trader trades then there are 2 types of expense associated with a trade. That is commission and spread. A broker usually earns from them.

So far I can say I only have experience. Not good and nor bad. Just have experience. I am trying my best to make it a good experience but it is taking it's time. I am still not near my goal where I can say it was a good journey for me. But hopefully soon will be able to say that.

Swap is dependent on interest rates. Now the interest rate of different countries is set in a way so more swaps can be gained from short trades. If interest rate of different countries dramatically change then the opposite can also happen.

The thing with forex is that it can bring one financial freedom. And if a person achieve that then there is nothing that trader needs anymore. But a trader should always be prepared for any outcome. So another source of income would be better in case something goes wrong with forex trading. And many people are in this business they want to quit their job.

Well in long term trading market is less noisy and also I am not a fan of long term trading. But if a newbie finds that long term trading is suitable for him then it is fine in my opinion. But I personally would like to suggest to try other ways before trying long term trading.
